5G is the fuel to the industry 4.0, and it's important to get it to India.-Qualcomm for Indian 5G test bed support.



Indian 5G plan going to take off early next year with the test bed set up. Indian Telecom department is pulling the things up to meet he dead line. Samsung and Huawei are already lining up for test bed set up. 

Qualcomm has also raised its flag to support the Indian dream on 5G. Qualcomm will be contributing through 5G hands set and much required 5G SmallCells for the Country specific use cases, which would be focusing on dense environments. 

"We are going to help support the field trials in India. We are here to help. That's a couple of areas that are important…one is smartphones…when they do these trials, I think there will be a lot of interest in 5G small cells for mmwave," Jim Cathey, president, Asia Pacific & India, Qualcomm .

The Indian government has said it will provide 5G airwaves and backhaul to telecom operators and telecom gear vendors. The government is confident of rolling out 5G in tandem with global markets in 2020, and is making all efforts to keep the timeline for the next-generation technology, which could have an economic impact of more than $1 trillion in the country.

Globally, big-scale 5G rollouts will happen early next year in countries like the US, China, Japan, and South Korea among others. Cathey said that 5G will be early in India as compared to the 4G technology since the government is pushing for it.
